Some of the highlights you can look forward to on a Day Safari Tour.

One Day Wonders

For the past month, we’ve been busy with our popular “One Day Wonder” cruise excursions. These tours are designed for cruise ship tourists arriving at Port Elizabeth Harbour who are looking for a day of adventure. We invite you to explore two of our recent cruise excursion adventures to see the types of activities available to you when your ship docks in Port Elizabeth. These one-day tours are also open to any other tourist visiting the area.

We pick up cruise ship tourists right from the Port Elizabeth Harbour for our “One Day Wonder” cruise excursions. From there, we take you on a thrilling tour to experience the best of our city and wildlife. At the end of the day, we’ll drop you back off at the port, just in time to board your ship.

From Safari Serenity to City Buzz.

This incredible cruise excursion journeyed to the Kragga Kamma Private Game Reserve, a sanctuary for vast herds of wildlife and a diverse range of species. The reserve’s lush landscape and natural surroundings allow the animals to roam freely and unrestricted, providing tourists with a unique opportunity to witness the wildlife in its most natural state

The journey continued into our city for the afternoon. Our first stop was the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, a world-class facility that makes for an interesting tour. From there, we visited the Donkin Reserve and Lighthouse, one of Gqeberha’s most iconic and historically significant landmarks.

Next, we travelled to Fort Frederick, where we explored the heritage of the Stone Fort, one of the first buildings in Port Elizabeth. Our next historic experience was the Town Hall, built between 1858 and 1862, which now serves as a Council Chamber.
Continuing our journey along Port Elizabeth’s beautiful and unspoiled coastline, we visited a sanctuary dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of ill, injured, abandoned, and oiled seabirds. Afterward, we began our return trip toward the harbour, stopping at The Boardwalk, which is home to some of the most popular restaurants in Port Elizabeth. Following a relaxing late afternoon lunch. this “One Day Wonder” duo tour came to an end. It was truly a unique Port Elizabeth adventure.

From Ship to a One Day Wildlife Adventure.

Our one-day excursion kicked off with a scenic drive to the famed Addo Elephant National Park. The reserve is well-known among tourists for its majestic herds of elephants that calmly parade around. We took a leisurely drive through the park, witnessing these marvelous creatures at their usual hotspot, the reserve’s waterholes. It’s an incredible story of conservation, as Addo’s elephants have thrived after surviving near extinction in 1919, when their population was only about 11, to a robust herd of over 600 today.

As we traveled slowly, the tourists caught glimpses of some of the Big Five who weren’t in hiding, along with a range of antelope species. There were plenty of stops for photos, allowing the tourists to capture memories of our magnificent wildlife and the breathtaking views of the reserve’s diverse landscape.

Before our safari ended, we stopped at Addo’s central hub, the Main Camp, to have a delicious lunch at the camp’s restaurant. Known for its variety of meat dishes, the restaurant also offers delicious options for our vegetarian guests, ensuring it was a meal to be remembered.
